WEEK 5


Assalamualaikum and be happy  everyone.
Fyi, i'm now really focusing doing my proposal.




Its really take a time with another assignments but i'm still working on this proposal.
A little bit more on literature review then done.


Besides that, i'm still doing research about this project -_=


Block Diagram



The joystick is the input of this project. The users give instruction by using this joystick. Then the input from the joystick is fed to PIC micro controller. The input from sensor also fed to PIC micro controller. The pic microcontroller will control the program and give instruction to the DC motor control which is the H bridge circuit. This make the dc motor get instruction and perform the results in wheelchair which we can see the results in mechanical performance.

WEEK 4

Today i want to do a comparison about my project.


Previous Work                      
A wheelchair is a mechanical device that can often assist. It effectively uses wheels and mechanical support to overcome a loss of legs or leg control. Manual wheelchairs can be operated by persons who have the use of their upper body or someone available to assist. Powered wheelchairs have been developed for when either of these cases does not apply. Technology growth introduced wheelchair as a facility for the handicapper or lacking ability people so that they can enjoy what other normal people do. However this kind of wheelchair is give less guaranteed for the comfortable and safety, especially in how to obstacle avoidance or hole that can be endanger to the user.

Present Work
Robotic Wheelchair for specialize operations for the handicapped is a prototype enveloped to add a few functions that is not available in conventional power wheelchair. The developed model can move manually or automatically, besides the usage of sensor system for obstacle avoidance and suitable motor that can be implemented to power wheelchair in order to get a more convenient to the user.
This Robotic Wheelchair for specialize operations is ideal for daily use because it’s easy to use and different from others wheelchair. This wheelchair in two versions which is full and half reclining and it’s more comfortable to use because it’s has extra net cushion and back detachable.
Robotic technologies have the potential to improve the lifestyles of people suffering from one or more disabilities. Robotic Wheelchair for specialize operations is ideal for people who are under special care and who find it difficult to move from their bed to the wheelchair. This wheelchair design features an adjustable height with a sliding seat that brings convenience to the chore of moving amid the chair and the bed. This design proves to be highly useful for the caregiver as well as the receiver of the care.

Review of History
Lying in bed for a long period of time is generally depressing and boring for most patients. To boost their spirits and make them more comfortable, you are required or patients will often ask for a change in position and surroundings. The only way to do this is to safely transfer the patient from bed to chair or wheelchair. Being transferred to a chair enables the patient to execute some slight movements that is beneficial in improving circulation. Using a wheelchair serves as a way to transport a weak patient around the hospital areas for treatments such as x-ray, ultrasound, or to the lab. From this situation, the common wheelchair does not have the reclining part which make uneasy to use because the nurse need to transfer the patients.

WEEK 3

1.5.1        HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE PART

For this part, the design will have the stable base of the wheelchair and the dc motor.
  •   Consider what materials and type of dc motor that can hold the capacity of load.
  •   Make sure the design of the robotic wheelchair is best criteria and stable wheelchair to load.
  •   Check the size of wheelchair will hold the user. The size limitations may affect the choice of material and dc motor, size, wheel and the voltage you will be able to use
  • Figure out the circuit that used to control the dc motor and the robotic wheelchair.

Meanwhile the software part is taking part when to control and run the robotic wheelchair. The simulation software used will be the Microcontroller or other electronics software as well. The simulation takes place in order to get the accurate outcome.

WEEK 2

 



PROJECT BACKGROUND:

Robotic Wheelchair for specialize operations can move manually or automatically, besides the usage of sensor system for obstacle avoidance and suitable motor that can be implemented to power wheelchair in order to get a more convenient to the user. This wheelchair is upgraded from the common wheelchair. This wheelchair can stop when the obstacles in front of them have by using the obstacle detector sensor.  This robotic Wheelchair for specialize operations is can be used in the hospital or the people that can’t move on easily at home.
The present designs are now often pose problems for consumers in terms of design designs. So, the project is carried out to complement the problems that arise in this wheelchair. What we see is that most users are only concerned with the quantity of day without thinking about the quality. This robotic wheelchair is really suit for the person that difficult to move from their bed to the wheelchair. This wheelchair in two versions which is full and half reclining and it’s more comfortable to use because it’s has extra net cushion and back detachable.


PROBLEM STATEMENT:

LACK OF PUBLIC FACILITIES for disable people and those who limited mobility is the reason for this project. In the market, have a lots of common wheelchair but always not flexible to them because have their own problem. Wheelchair mainly used by the disabled, the senior citizens who difficult to move and the patients in the hospital. No matter the office, clinic doctors, and other health care providers is essential in providing public facilities, people with disabilities or limited mobility patients. Due to the constraints, individuals with disabilities are less likely to get their daily routine than persons without disabilities. Not only needs a wheelchair, but it is an important facility to enable them to undergo their daily routine and facilitate care for patients with difficult to move. Robotic Wheelchair for specialize operations is different from a common wheelchair as there are own advantages.

OBJECTIVE:

·         The focuses of this project more on about to upgrated designing of common wheelchair.
·         Therefore aim of this project is to fix this problem so this wheelchair will more comfortable and useful to them to use.
·         The main objective of this project is to help the disable and those who limited mobility to move freely without any problem. Besides that, this wheelchair can functionally when facing with the obstacle and automatically stops. 
·         This wheelchair also have their own specialty which is full and half reclining in two version and it’s more comfortable to use because it’s has extra net cushion and back detachable.
·         The overall objectives will make this wheelchair is more special compare then common wheelchair.

WEEK 1


Assalamualaikum and hye everyone.

 WHAT IS FYP?
The Final Year Project is a major component of the undergraduate degree course in UniKL-BMI. The main objective is to develop problem solving, analysis, synthesis and evaluation skills in Engineering field. While working on the project, the students would also be able to develop personal and social skills through various means such as communicating with expert from industries, discussion with supervisor/lecturer and colleagues, self-learning, problem solving, report writing, oral presentation, time management, self-confidence and team-work.


Title of activity:

Find the lecturer for advisor in Final Year Project 1 2012. Meanwhile, search for the suitable title for Final Year Project.

Objective:

Confirmation of the title chosen and the advisor that agree with the title.

Content/Procedure:

1.   Find the lecturer from the Final Year Project department from RPS website.
2. Find the idea and title from internet
3. Describe the title and understand the idea.
4. Find more information based on the title chosen.

2.  Identify the component that will be used in this project
3. Understand every single function for every component used in this Final Year Project
4.  Know how to handle the project with care
5. The title that I choose for this Final Year Project was ROBOTIC WHEELCHAIR FOR SPECIALIZE OPERATION
